The spring hunt is usually a low impact, low stress, enjoyable vacation with very high hunter success.
Our five-year average is 158% success with 1 seven-foot bear per week. An average bear is 6 foot and 200 lbs. Colored bears make up 30% of the total population in our area. Bear Paw has consistently produced top quality bear hunts.
Fall bear hunting is one of the best hunts. The voracious appetites of the big bears in late August to mid-September offer the trophy bear hunters an excellent opportunity to take a bruin of a lifetime. Mature bears will be approximately 60 – 100 lbs. heavier than in the spring. Bears in excess of 500 lbs. are taken annually. The fall hunt also offers the hunter the option of hunting baits or Spot & Stalk as the bears raid the cereal grain crops.
