2003 was Bear Paws "Best Year" for Mule Deer! We had hoped to equal the quality in 2004.
WE BLEW IT AWAY! Our September Mule Deer hunts were above and beyond our best ever. 20 Mule Deer hunters took 20 deer and averaged and incredible 189 gross Boone and Crockett. Superior genetics and 4 successive mild winters have allowed our deer to reach their genetic potential.
John Smith harvested our best Mule Deer to date an "Extremely Massive" 227 gross buck that has it all 195 typical frame, 12" drop, extreme mass all over 5 1/2" and 27" spread.
James Howard and Bryan Wallace took great bucks 193 and 184 respectively.
Mark Erspamer took another buck over 180 his 4th in five years. Sam Syring also took a great deer a 190 8x5 with Bowen Dolhan. Bowen has consistently produced some of the "Best Deer" in Alberta for his clients.
Jim Burns took another monster 214 gross 29" wide buck on his first trip in the first hour of his hunt.
Dave Schulte and Jason Parker teamed up for a 207 after passing numerous bucks in the 180's.
Chris Gilbert took 6 Mule Deer hunters in 04 and averaged 189 gross. Outstanding effort and scouting are the reasons these guides continue to produce at an unsurpassed level.
