The 2016 rifle Mule Deer hunt was one of our best in harvest history!
We are seeing mature bucks of 4 years and older.
We had so much rain this year that there was no need for the deer population to venture out into the fields for food source. The forest, creeks, and river valleys provided all that they needed to sustain themselves well into late November. So, into the forest we went. We were very successful in spotting the deer, however, getting to them was a different story. To this day there are still standing and swathed crops laying in the field and the deer are now coming out to feed.
Curt Simkins shot a 189”.
Vince Vreeland got another 189”.
Harold Barrow harvested a 186”.
And first timer Matt Phillips shot a 184”.
